Hotel Bookkeeper and Receptionist

Reports to: Hotel Manager

Would you like the opportunity to combine your work with travel? Mark Warner invites you to join our team as Hotel Bookkeeper and Receptionist where you will run the day-to-day finances of the hotel whilst providing financial guidance to the Resort Manager. You'll oversee the accounting and control systems within the hotel and the production of accurate weekly accounts whilst working closely with Head Office.  You will also provide reception cover working alongside the reception team to provide an exceptional service for our guests.

Requirements

  • Degree in Maths and/or Finance or at least 2 years' experience in accounting
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of basic bookkeeping and double entry methods
  • Good eye for detail
  • UK/EU passport holder
  • UK National Insurance or EU Social Security number
  • UK/EU bank account

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support a good relationship with the Resort Manager/head office
  • Ensure timely and accurate production of the weekly resort accounts
  • Reconcile cash and card receipts against sales and reconcile any variances
  • Reconcile and control the hotels petty cash transactions;
  • Enter deliveries into bookkeeping software and reconcile invoices
  • Reconcile ancillary incomes and costs to invoices and raise purchase orders for the expect costs
  • Responsible for daily and weekly cash-ups for all area
  • Weekly stock takes
  • Weekly reconciliation of guest room bills with reception
  • Provide support to the manager to produce a commentary report on the monthly resort management accounts
  • Provide financial support to all departments, includes bar performance and food expenditure vs budget
  • Assisting Head Office with queries and other information/reports required
  • Weekly reception duties including checking-in guests and coordinating the checkout process
  • Assisting guests with general queries
