Paddle boarding holidays
Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is a global sport with a Hawaiian heritage. In the early 1960s, the beach boys of Waikiki would stand on their long boards and paddle out with outrigger paddles to take pictures of the tourists learning to surf.
One of the reasons for the rise in popularity of SUP boarding is that, unlike surfing, it is very easy to learn. Within one hour, you can become very comfortable in the water and on your board. And at all of our resorts, you can give it a go yourself.
We’ll give you an intro, where you’ll be shown how the board operates, how to use your paddle and what to look out for. This usually takes less than an hour, then you’ll be ready to pick up your board, paddle out and go for it.
Many guests come back to SUP again and again, especially those who aren’t into the crazy adrenaline rush of some of the other watersports. Always a popular activity in the Indy social club, anyone aged 14 and above has the opportunity to try SUP during their stay with Mark Warner when you book one of our SUP holidays.
