Pickleball holidays
Pickleball is a fast growing sport in the UK, which originates from the US. It combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.
What is pickleball?
Pickleball is a similar concept to padel, but there are no walls to play off and the game is played with a hard ball, meaning that it has a lot in common with badminton and table tennis. It is played on a badminton sized court with a lower tennis-style net, using paddles to hit a plastic ball to one another.
Pickleball can be played as both singles and doubles, and is suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Unlike tennis, players aren't required to serve overarm. It is the perfect game for multi-generational families on holiday - grandparents can play with their grandchildren.
The three new pickleball courts at Phokaia in Turkey are proving to be hugely popular, with our guests telling us that the game is super-fast to pick up and fun for all the family.
